క్లామిడోఫిలా సిటాసి అనే బ్యాక్టీరియా సోకటం వల్ల ఈ వ్యాధి వస్తుంది. పౌల్ట్రీ, వెటర్నరీ విభాగాల్లో పనిచేసేవారికి, పక్షులను పెంచుకొనేవారు ఎక్కువగా ఈ వ్యాధికి గురవుతున్నట్టు వెల్లడిస్తున్నారు. బ్యాక్టీరి యా సోకిన 5-14 రోజుల్లో వ్యాధి లక్షణాలు కనిపిస్తాయని తెలిపింది.
